TJ's interest in property was sparked after returning from the UK- where balconies are not counted in one's square footage!- and finding that the Singapore property had totally changed in the 7 years she was away. When not reading and watching articles & videos about property, she is busy cooking and baking for friends, family & her blog Greedygirlgourmet

About the photo of that house where there’s a big collection of collectables stacked up close to the SP electricity box…..reminds me of my former neighbour who even erected a loose fencing OUTSIDE his house’s main gate which extends around 1.5 to 2 metres onto the publicly accessible walkway & inside his barricade he placed his belongings like potted plants maybe even some marble stool etc. !!

Have to wonder on the legality aspect of this because although i vaguely recall there’s some provision somewhere stating that up to around 1.5 meters beyond the official erected fence of one’s house is still considered one’s ‘private area’ (??) but does that mean it’s ‘ok’ to place one’s belongings like such collectables OUTSIDE one’s official house fencing/external wall, irregardless whether one places some loose fencing around it or not ??

Curious to seek some clarifications on this ??? In the above case here, won’t it be considered obstruction of access to public property if say the SP people need to access that electricity box for maintenance / repair works etc. ?!?
